獸研所貓咪免疫保養主食罐|研發故事及參考文獻

        貓咪的生活中充斥著許多病原,而免疫力失調則會使貓咪對於病原的抵抗力減弱,繼發許多疾病。當貓咪無法攝取均衡且足夠的營養時,會使免疫細胞的生成與活化受到影響,進而導致部分免疫機能的喪失。

  根據統計,5歲齡以上的貓咪發生癌症的機率較高5。隨著貓咪漸漸走向高齡化,於2014 年,腫瘤已超越慢性腎臟病位居台灣家貓十大死因之首21。基因變異、營養、肥胖3、年齡、壓力、環境致癌物、創傷、病毒等都可能是造成貓咪罹患癌症的病因。攝取優質的營養和維持適當的體態,即為貓咪日常生活中維持免疫力及預防癌症的一大方法。
  成貓為年齡介於 1-7 歲的貓咪。提供成貓熱量充足和營養均衡的飲食,乃成貓營養的關鍵5。期許能藉由日常飲食,使成貓以最佳的身體狀態生活,用優良的免疫力來預防癌症並抵抗各類疾病,乃獸研所成貓免疫機能主食罐的研發宗旨。

獸研所免疫保養主食罐針對免疫力強化與癌症預防上添加了以下的功能性添加物:

1. 微分子褐藻醣膠

海藻類植物,例如褐藻,富含褐藻醣膠(fucoidan)。褐藻醣膠是一種多醣體,文獻指出,褐藻醣膠可誘導癌細胞凋亡進而抗癌7, 9, 19、藉由活化免疫細胞來達到免疫調節的作用、提升身體內的抗氧化能力、也可藉由抑制血管新生作用而抗發炎15

2. 酵素固態發酵培養的牛樟芝萃取粉末

研究顯示,牛樟芝(Taiwanofungus camphoratus)所含的 β-葡聚糖(β-glucan)18,可抑制癌細胞生長、抑制腫瘤細胞的增生與轉移10、降低膽固醇、提升免疫力6, 14、抗氧化,也可維持肝臟機能,防止肝臟組織壞死與纖維化12, 13, 20

3. 富含 ω3 脂肪酸的魚油

魚油為 EPA 和 DHA 的主要來源,而EPA和DHA屬於ω3 脂肪酸11。研究指出,ω3 脂肪酸具有免疫調節、抗發炎、抗氧化的功能,雖然魚油在貓的癌症應用研究上仍在發展中,但適量補充ω3 脂肪酸已被建議用於預防癌症或是避免腫瘤轉移2, 5, 9,也對腎臟病、骨關節炎、皮膚疾病等有所助益4, 16

        獸研所的成貓免疫機能主食罐,除了符合美國飼料品管協會(Association of American Feed Control Officials, AAFCO),美國國家科學研究委員會(National Research Council, NRC)和歐洲寵物食品產業聯盟(European Pet Food Industry Federation, FEDIAF)的成貓基本營養需求建議量1, 8, 17之外,獸研所以優質的動物性蛋白來源,包含雞胸肉、鮭魚和鮪魚等,並佐以雞油以提供成貓蛋白質和脂質的營養基礎,並加入維生素與礦物質,額外添加必需胺基酸。另外,加入洋車前子膳食纖維以維護腸道機能,有助於排便順暢。除此之外,更添加「褐藻、牛樟芝、魚油」,並搭配天然抗氧化劑維生素E以增進成貓免疫力2, 9,期許能預防癌症與各式疾病,從成貓期開始吃得營養,期許能讓牠們健康的走到熟齡貓期。
  除了營養均衡之外,適量的飲食攝取也很重要!能量攝取不足在成貓可能造成體重減輕和肌肉消瘦的問題,反之,能量攝取過剩則會造成肥胖的問題2, 5。肥胖是造成癌症及其他成貓慢性疾病的風險因子之一3,因此,飲食量的控制和運動量的調整以維持體態,避免肥胖或消瘦,對守護貓咪的健康來說也十分重要!
